At least twenty five familes were forced to abandon their homes after heavy rains and winds destroyed their properties in Tumana and Kaba Kama in the country’s Upper River Region.
Panels for a solar system used to pump water for taps in the village of Baldeh Kunda were destroyed by winds. It is the village’s only source of clean drinking water.
At least one person was reported to have suffered minor injuries and a three fell on at least one house.
Some compound fences in Kaba Kama had collapsed and many businesses were reported to have flooded, according to the Daily Observer.
Many valuables were lost, residents said.
