Drunk driving blamed for Senegambia crash

Several people were left injured around the Senegambia area when a drunk driver plowed into passenger cab along the coastal road.

The vehicles were seriously damaged and victims rushed to the hospital. No deaths were recorded.

Citizens are urging for police checks points in the area during the night. Senegambia is lined with nightclubs and hotels were many attend parties.

Last month, a young 19-year-old girl was killed by a drunk driver when she got hit in the Bakoteh area, less than three miles from the Senegambia strip.

At least two other automobile accidents have been reported last week in the area raising concerns over speeding and drunk drivers.

Accidents last month in Gambia has killed a reported 15 people between Brikama and Banjul, one involving a truck and a commercial van locally called gele gele.
